New York, NY, (October 3, 2018) – Mally Beauty, the color cosmetics brand that challenges their loyal Mallynistas to be “fierce and fabulous,” made quite the stir at RuPaul’s Dragcon NYC this past weekend.
The brand hosted an interactive booth, featuring a Mallywood Wall of Fame in which passersby were encouraged to take photos in front of with Mally Roncal and their favorite queens. Mally Beauty handed out branded scratch offs, offering participants to receive a chance to win a Mallywood Wazza Wassup Highlighting Trio or Shadow Stick Extra. Two Mally Beauty makeup artists were also on-site providing makeup tips and touchups to those who stopped by the booth.
Mally Beauty hosted a meet and greet with brand founder and celebrity makeup artist, Mally Roncal. Mallynistas were provided with the opportunity to speak to and interact with Mally, while they bonded over their shared love of makeup. Over the three days Mally met with Michelle Visage, Marc Jacobs, James Charles, Mickey Boardman, Zaldy, Brad Goreski, Carson Kressley, Todrick Hall, Carmen Carrera, Blair St. Clair, Kalorie Karbashian-Williams, Thorgy Thor, Ongina, Tammie Brown, Yuha Hamasaki, Aquaria, Kameron Michaels, Lady Bunny, Miz Cracker, Lactatia, Kasha Davis, Jiggly Caliente, Dusty Ray Bottoms, Tammie Brown, Darienne Lake, Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, Mariah Balenciaga, Miss Vanjie and of course, RuPaul.
On Sunday, September 30th, Mally Roncal was the celebrity guest for the first-ever LIVE taping of “RuPaul’s: What’s the Tee? with Michelle Visage” Podcast. The discussion included Mally’s career as a celebrity makeup artist, the history of how Mally and RuPaul met and why they all love Face Defender.
Later in the day, Mally Roncal participated in a panel at Dragcon with Trinity K Bonet, Kalorie Karbdashian-Williams and Mariah Balenciaga moderated by Gabe Bergado from Teen Vogue. The panelists provided makeup tips, tricks and insider secrets, while Mally also discussed how the drag world has influenced and continues to influence the beauty industry.
Mally and RuPaul initially met in the early 90s when they were both living in New York City and instantly hit it off. Mally was always enamored by the NYC drag scene and witnessed RuPaul’s iconic drag look come together first-hand. The duo recently announced the launch of their upcoming collaboration between Mally Beauty and RuPaul, which will be available in Spring 2019.
